Activities in and around Augusta
Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse
Visit this historic lighthouse where two oceans meet. Tour the grounds or go with a guide to the top. See the turbulent Indian Ocean and Southern Ocean. The site of the famous Pericles wreck is just out from the observation area.
The Lake, Mammoth and Jewel Caves are just a short distance away. Enjoy lunch or coffee at the new state of the art restaurant at the Jewel Cave overlooking the tall karri trees.
Whale Watch excursions run from June until October. View these amazing creatures as they rest in Flinders Bay with their calves.
Fishing and Crabbing
Fish from the Town Jetty or from many spots along the shore. We have room for your boat if you wish to bring it with you. Crabs have been very plentiful and tasty so come and enjoy.
Augusta Golf Club has a world class golf course and visitors are welcome. There is also a nine hole public golf course in the street behind Augusta Escape. A five dollar fee is placed in the honour box by each player before you set off on this very well maintained area.
The Augusta and Districts Historical Museum is opposite Augusta Escape and is open daily
